OUR TEAM
Jenny Chu, Co-Founder, Director
Jenny is a professional dancer, choreographer, and heels instructor. She began her dance journey at age 8 in her hometown of Randolph, MA, where she trained in jazz and tap at The Gold School. Since moving to Boston to pursue her Masters degree in nursing, her passion for dance has grown to include Urban, Latin, Afrobeats, Shuffle and Heels styles. During her studies, Jenny competed and performed with MIT’s Ridonkulous and Northeastern’s Revolve dance crews. She served as Artistic Director for Revolve’s 2016-2017 season and contributed choreography for both crews’ competing sets for World of Dance Boston and Prelude New England. In 2018, her focus shifted to nightlife entertainment when she began her gogo residency at Scorpion Bar Boston. The following year she obtained a gogo residency at Royale and was an active Royale Doll until 2022. Also in 2022, she was selected as an Ultra Angel’s Finalist.
Jenny launched her very own heels classes in 2019 with the goal of creating a safe space for students to express themselves and build self-confidence in and out of the studio. In 2020, Jenny was selected to join RAW, an exclusive international arts organization, and was invited to showcase her heels choreography at RAW Boston. When she is not dancing, she works full time as a pediatric nurse practitioner at a community health center with a particular interest in adolescent health.
Jen Del Cid, Regional Director of Rhode Island
Jen, a Rhode Island native, has always been passionate about dance and music ever since she was a child. Her love for dance flourished when her mother taught her traditional and cultural Cape Verdean dances like Pasada and Funana. Jen, being fully immersed in her Cape Verdean culture, has learned to speak 4 languages such as English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Cape Verdean Creole. Her fluency in multiple languages was a huge asset while she was pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration in Rhode Island College. Shortly after graduating in 2019, she established a career in inventory purchasing buying pet food and supplies for pets across the country. As her professional career advanced, her dance training did as well. Jen began to train in Heels, Urban, Latin fusion, and Contemporary styles in local dance studios.
In 2022, Jen wanted to pursue more performance opportunities which led her to audition for Onyxx. Out of 50 auditionees, Jen shined her way through and was selected to be in the company. Over time, Jen proved to be an amazing performer and supportive teammate. Her professionalism and tenacity enabled her to secure several opportunities in Rhode Island, where she has helped Onyxx develop their Rhode Island team. She now serves as the Regional Director of Onyxx’s Rhode Island branch.
Allie Morales, Executive Assistant
Allie is a professional dancer, performance artist, and instructor originally from DeForest, Wisconsin. Her passion for dance and performance began in her early childhood, and she owes much of her technical expertise to her training at A Step Above Dance & Music Academy and Storybook Ballet. After years of assistant teaching, performing competitively, and teaching dance for the DeForest Parks and Recreation, she decided to expand her dance knowledge at the University of Minnesota: Twin Cities. Allie graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance and a minor in Health and Wellness Promotion in May 2020. She was also selected to perform in pieces by renowned choreographers, such as Robert Moses, Pramila Vasudevan, Eko Supriyanto, and Chris Schlichting. She was the featured soloist in Robert Moses’ “Cause” in December 2019, and the piece was selected to compete at the American College Dance Association. Since graduating, Allie has performed professionally with Onyxx Performance Group, Metamorphosis Dance Company, TEN31 Productions, The Boston She Party, Forty Steps Dance, Madison Contemporary Dance, and with freelance choreographers such as Sabrina Yachkouri and Mica Romulo. Allie also enjoys sharing her passion for movement with the next generation, and she has taught and choreographed for both recreational and competitive programs nationwide for students ages two through adult.
As a member of Onyxx Performance Group since the very first audition, Allie has seen firsthand the great value in connecting with communities through dance, empowering and providing financial opportunities for womxn, and building a supportive sisterhood. Filled with gratitude for the opportunities, friendships, and growth that has come of her time with Onyxx, she is thrilled to give back by supporting the team administratively.
